New Visit Visa Requirements For Family & Relatives Of Expats With Jobs In Qatar

Are you currently working in Qatar and planning to bring your family or relatives? Read on to know the latest requirements for obtaining a visit visa for them.

The Ministry of Interior has explained the new requirements for getting a visit visa for family and relatives, in an awareness webinar held recently.

In the virtual conference, Lt Col Dr Saad Uwaidha Al Ahbabi, Head of Service Offices Section, has elaborated the following requirements:

1. Visa applications need to be submitted through Metrash2 for spouse, children or for relatives like brother, sister or parents.

2. To apply visit visas for spouse and children, a minimum salary of QR5,000 is required while for other relatives (brother, sister or parents) minimum salary required is QR10,000.

3. The requirement for personal visit visas for spouse and children includes:

- Visit visa application form

- No objection letter from employer

- Photocopy of company card

- Copy of passport of the visitor

- Copy of the applicants ID card

- Health insurance

- Round-trip tickets

- Proof of relationship (wife-notarized marriage certificate/Children - birth certificate)

- Work contract (notarized by the labor department) besides the applicant should have a minimum salary of QR5,000

For personal visit for other relatives (brother, sister, mother, father, spouse’s relatives etc), the applicant should submit the following:

- Visit visa application form

- No objection letter from the employer

- Photocopy of company card

- Copy of passport of the visitor

- Copy of the applicant’s ID card

- Copy of the wife’s residency card (if she is a resident) and proof of relationship

Note: The applicant should have a minimum salary of QR10,000.

On requirement for entry permit of newborn, the requirements are:

- Original passport of the child

- Original birth certificate

- Photos

- Copy of residence permit for the applicant

- Mother’s visa

Note: The baby will get a visa on arrival only if the mother is under the sponsorship of the applicant.

To date, there are 18 MoI service centers spread across the country to provide visas, residence, change of employer, and ID issuance and renewal services among others.

The webinar on “The Services offered by the Services Centers of the Ministry of Interior and the Humanitarian Services Office" was organised by the Public Relations Department of Ministry in collaboration with the Unified Services Dept. under the General Directorate of Passports.

Over 250 people from HR, finance, safety, security, the public and private companies, and heads and representatives of expat communities attended the event.
